Grapes: Chenin Blanc. Attractive pale yellow colour with a slight silver tint. Long & persistent string of very fine bubbles. Mineral with flinty aromas, supported by notes of toasted almonds. When aired, the nose evolves on buttered & lemony notes. The palate is smooth, with spicy flavours of pepper & citrus. The finish is long with a supple structure.
White
Delheim Wild Ferment Chenin Blanc, Stellenbosch, South Africa
100% Chenin Blanc. A Complex array of wild fermentation characteristics are ever present in this edition of the Delheim wild Ferment. Dominant fragrances on stone fruits and orange peel held together by a subtle hint of caramel. Vibrant fruit with plentiful mouth feel and lasting nish are in beautiful harmony on the palate. A truly beautiful display of sublime vineyards, minimal intervention winemaking and mother nature. Fabulous!
Cecilia Beretta Brognoligo Soave, Veneto, Italy
100% Garganega. Aged on the lees for 2 month. Aroma of ripe golden apple and apricot with notes of chamomile. Fresh and well balanced on the palate, with an almond aftertaste which is characteristic of the Garganega variety. This Soave pairs well with light antipasti, delicate dishes such as tagliolini with shrimp or seafood risotto as well as fish entrées such as seabass and crab. Falstaff Soave Trophy – 92 points
Red
Luigi Bosca Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
100% Malbec. Luigi Bosca Malbec is a bright purple-red wine featuring intense and pleasant aromas of great varietal typicity and notes reminiscent of red fruits, in addition to its somewhat highly balanced floral and spicy hints. It is wide, expressive and flowing in the mouth, with sweet tannins and an excellent fruity character. Straightforward and firm in the palate, its well-integrated ageing in oak barrels can be perceived, also showing a deep, longlasting and clean finish.
Rioja Vega Gran Reserva, Rioja, Spain
Tempranillo, Graciano & Mazuelo. Aged for 29 months in American oak and 36 months in bottle before release. Aromas of very mature fruit (raisins, compote) are accompanied by cinnamon, vanilla & toasted bread. In the background hints of anise and liquorice are also found. Incredibly long palate with intense flavours of fruit oak and spice. Heavenly!
Dessert
Cave de Crouseilles Les Hautains Bio, Cotes du Gasgogne, France (37.5cl)
Grapes: Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu. An intense and complex nose of ripe pineapple and preserved citrus fruits which are a sign of this delightful wine’s typicity. Noble aromatic expression and a natural liveliness. An absolute delight to be enjoyed by itself, in accompaniment to blue cheese or fruit desserts.
