Le Bèrne farm is situated in southern Tuscany, in the province of Siena, where it is perfectly located in the beautiful countryside of Montepulciano, an area that has been well known since 1400 to produce the “Vino Nobile”.
In the ‘60s, Mr. Egisto Natalini, together with his son Giuliano, decided to produce wine, starting a family-run business that appraises the Tuscan viticulture tradition. Giuliano’s son, Andrea, who is a land surveyor and who joined the business in 1995, is supported by Paolo Vagaggini, a well-known oenologist with whom the family is planning to improve agricultural experimentation and to refine its wine-making techniques.
Le Bèrne’s products derive from a long-standing tradition of hard work and passion for their land. The secret of their wines lies in their long past of traditional craftsmanship – from the harvest of hand-selected grapes. Quality is their greatest passion.
The history of Vino Nobile originates from a centuries-old winemaking tradition, which already in the seventeenth century saw the Nobleman defined by Francesco Redi “of every wine is King” in his “Bacchus of Tuscany.” It obtained the DOCG in 1980 and today it is considered one of the most prestigious Italian red wines.
We are delighted to add these fabulous wines to our list.
Le Berne Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2021
Vino Nobile has a ruby red colour of good concentration, intense aroma with evident fruity notes and hints of wild berries, cherry, and vanilla. In the mouth is full and round, persistent with a good tannic component. It is a classic pairing with roasted red and white meats, all the cheeses among which it prefers the “Pecorino di Pienza”
Le Berne Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Cervognano Alto 2020
This is the new entry of the house, from the single vineyard of Cervognano. A beautiful expression of one of the most amazing terroirs for Sangiovese. Cherries, blueberries, violets, a hint of eucalyptus and graphite as well as a sweet cinnamon spice make for an incredibly refined bouquet. Beguiling red berry flavours and floral notes on the palate, which, together with fine-grained tannins, lead to a long finish of majestic quality. a fantastic progression of crunchy cherry and red flowers that lead to a fine-grained tannin and a lingering finish of majestic quality.
Le Berne Borbotta Viognier Bianco 2023
Outstanding. Viognier is a vine not commonly grown due to its low productivity, but when it is well tended and produced unblended it can give amazing results, mainly thanks to the particularly intense tropical & almond notes and great persistence in the mouth. From the Natalini family; 4 generations of winemaking in the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano region.
