More than a century ago, two Piedmontese adventurers, Mr. Sella, an engineer, and Mr. Mosca, a lawyer, fell in love with Sardinia’s unique landscape and created Sella & Mosca.

The company now has 650 hectares of Mediterranean scrub and vineyards in Alghero producing robust and characterful wines which reflect the landscape.

The Vermentino is grown between granite and Mediterranean scrub and the Carignano between sand and sea.

The estate respects biodiversity, and is proud of its history, knowledge and enhancement of the products and knowledge of the territory. Here, with work, commitment, passion, and constant attention, Sella & Mosca wines are produced to the highest standard.

We are thrilled to add 4 Selle & Mosca wines to our portfolio.

Sella & Mosca Vermentino di Sardegna 2023
100% Vermentino
Mediterranean and forthright, this wine is an extremely versatile and easy-drinking Vermentino di Sardegna DOC. Grown on the North-Eastern lands of the Sella & Mosca estates overlooking in the sea, the Vermentino here has its ideal habitat.

Attractive and rich. The aromatic herbs and mineral slate stand out.  A juicy, aromatic gem of a wine with grapefruit and lime aromas with hints of almond, stones & citrus zest. On the palate the citrus notes predominate with pear and some tangy tropical fruit. Despite being easy-drinking, a distinct Mediterranean personality stands out.

For medium to full flavoured fish dishes.

Sella & Mosca Cala Reale Vermentino di Sardegna 2023
100% Vermentino
Only the best Vermentino grapes become Cala Reale. Grown on ancient marine soils, they are harvested and brought to the cellar for pressing followed by cold maceration.

The brief ageing in steel includes a period of élevage on the fine lees. Deep straw- yellow in colour with brilliant green hues, it has an intense bouquet that combines a seductive tropical note with more classic nuances of Mediterranean scrub, berries, and herbs. The scents of ripe fruit, which predominate on the palate, merge with a lush, salty sapidity that runs through an elegant and precious mouthfeel. The long and mineral finish is decidedly fresh and savoury.

Sella & Mosca Medeus Cannonau di Sardegna 2023
100% Cannonau (Grenache)
Medeus Cannonau, stands out for its finesse and elegance. It comes from warm,
sandy soils and vineyards not far from the sea and caressed by the northeast wind. It expresses the youngest and fruitiest notes of the vine, making it intense and warm, and combines delicate floral and ripe fruit sensations with the more classic hints of Mediterranean vegetation.

Its brilliant ruby-red colour, the intense aromas of ripe red fruit accompanied by slight balsamic notes and the fresh, savoury notes. Light, soft, and enveloping tannins, all come together to yield a full, robust, warm, balanced wine with good freshness and depth. The finish is long and silky in texture.

Sella & Mosca Terre Rare Carignano del Sulcis 2022
Carignano (Carignan)
An ancient varietal from the Sardinian tradition, perhaps first planted here by the Phoenicians, carignano displays on the island’s many Mediterranean characteristics. Typical of the southernmost areas of the Sulcis, it comes from the coastal estate extending from Capo Teulada to the Iglesiente mountain range. Here the vines are goblet-trained, close to the ground, in the traditional manner, and yield generous, original fruit.

After fermenting on the skins, the wine is aged for an extended period, at least three years, first in small oak and then in the bottle. The colour is a luminous ruby red with purple highlights when young, and the bouquet presents the nose with a variegated and impressively intense assortment of aromas that change in the glass, reminiscent of pomegranate, currants, wild blackberries and aromatic herbs, before giving way to softer, sweeter hints of fig and a final nuance of liquorice. To the palate it is warm and generous, with a smooth structure and extremely fine tannins, polished and flavourful. The long finish is reminiscent of spices and ripe fruit.
